Doctors

Dr. Jane P. Milan
Owner, Lead Veterinarian
I graduated from the University of Illinois Veterinary College in 1983 and also completed my undergraduate studies there.  I migrated south to Houston and worked for two years at a busy, small animal practice before opening Wilcrest Animal Hospital in 1985.  I have greatly enjoyed growing and improving the practice.  My husband John is a commercial pilot and we have three children – Lauren, Matt, and Megan.  Lauren in currently in graduate school at Columbia, Matt is graduating in 2012 from Stratford High School and Megan is in 8th grade at Cornerstone Academy.  Our animal kids include a Welsh corgi “Gus” and two rescue German Shepherds “Tess” and “Belle”, as well as three cats “Gunner,” “Izzie,” and “Carlos.”  Our exotic friends include a Water Dragon, two parakeets, two fish tanks, 1 guinea pig and a very loud Eclectus Parrot, “Lipstick.”  Our large animals include my very senior Quarter Horse, “Classy,” and Megan’s Hunter Thoroughbred, “Dexter.”  I continue to enjoy the challenges of AAHA practice ownership and difficult internal medicine and surgery cases.  I have enjoyed increasing my knowledge and skill in dentistry in the last few years with Dr. Wise’s help.  My interest include community service volunteering through First Junior Women’s Club, horseback riding, and being a “barn” Mom and “baseball” Mom.
Dr. Margaret C. Wise
Associate Veterinarian
I am an Aggie vet that earned both my undergraduate degree and DVM from Texas A&M. I have worked at Wilcrest Animal Hospital for my entire career and can't imagine practicing anywhere else. I love the family-like qualities of this hospital as well as the high level of medicine that the staff practices. My greatest joy is teaching owners about their new puppy or kitten and helping that special "senior" pet to live a better life during their "golden" years. At home I enjoy the company of my two dogs, Roxie and Reggae, and my cat, Dottie. I also have a Thoroughbred gelding, Manny, that I enjoy training and riding English dressage (between sugar cubes and carrots of course!). My husband and I also enjoy competing our labs Reggae, in hunt and field trials. Reggae is the proud holder of his hunting retriever champion, master hunter, and upland hunter titles. I am also a certified scuba driver, and whenever I can find time to spare, you will find me "blowing bubbles" and enjoying the exotic wonders and beauty of marine life.

Hi, I’m Angela and I’ve been a technician since 2008.  I have one “baby” – a Chihuahua mix named Roscoe and a Betta fish named Azul.  The most enjoyable part of my day (aside from sloppy kisses and purrs) is listening to the stories about how your furry friends are more than just “animals” but a member of the family.  I look forward to meeting them all!

Support Team

Maggie
Supervisor
Maggie was a stray that we rescued from our roof.  After staying with us for 2 weeks she decided to move in.  Her primary duties include supervising the reception area and greeting clients.  She keeps in shape by doing wind sprints down the hall, lifting furry toy mice, and fluffing her gorgeous tail.

John Milan

I have been with the practice since 1990 and am married to Dr. Milan. I am a multi-talented part of the team as I am in charge of what everyone else doesn't want to do _ accounting and maintenance of the facility. I graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in Wildlife and Fisheries, but have changed my primary profession to aviation. I fly full-time as a pilot for Cockrell Interests doing charter in a Lear and Falcon Jet.  My interests include keeping up with the kids and their activities, camping, fishing, and boating.

Rebecca

I have been the Wilcrest Animal Hospital's bookkeeper since 2006.  I love working with the staff here as I can see they really do care about their patients and clients.  Great place for people and animals!

“A tribute to Sophie the Senior Supervisor”

Sophie
Senior Supervisor
How do you say goodbye to the cat who has touched so many lives?  Sophie has been running this clinic for almost 18 years.  She left us in November of 2007.  Her many jobs included greeting clients, supervising doctor phone calls, running staff meetings and keeping us in line.  From the heart – good bye Sophie.  We miss you everyday.  Your dainty little paw prints will be on our hearts forever.
